Alone In The Dark Slips To September

Atari have confirmed that the upcoming Alone In The Dark – the fifth incarnation of the long running series that started way back in 1992 has been delayed(yes again). All versions of the game – PC, Xbox 360, Wii, Nintendo DS, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 2 and PlayStation Portable – are now set of a September 2008 release. The news come from the US based Games For Windows magazine, which brings the bad news to tell us the game will no longer hit it’s intended March ’08 release.

The big selling point of the game is that it is constructed around a unique episodic format, with the storyline split into several episodes averaging around 30 to 40 minutes worth of gameplay. Each episode will apparently end cliffhanger ending and, encouraging player to keep going, or leavening them wondering what will happened should they have to leave the game.

Regardless of this, I guess we are now all on one big cliffhanger until we get the game in September
