Alien Hominid Hits XBLA This Week

It has been revealed that this weeks chosen title to star in the greatness that is known as Xbox Live Wednesdays will be Alien Hominid. Its imminent arrival was confirmed via a news post on 1UP where they chatted with Aaron Greenberg, Group Product Manager for Xbox 360 about all things XBLA. Speaking on the supposed lack of games on the service Greenberg said “We really did have multiple titles slip at the same time. That is not our plan going forward, We are excited to bring Alien Hominid out next week; we are excited to make up for lost time.

Alien Hominid began life on the Adobe Flash website, Newgrounds way back in 2002 and from there it made its way onto many a platform including the likes of PS2, GameCube, Xbox and GBA. Very little information has being officially released about the title as of yet but it is known that the game will included extra features not in the console games and it will have co-operative multiplayer offline, and online mini-games playable for up to 4 players. The PDA Game – a 2D platformer like Super Mario Bros. – and a Challenge mode will also be playable. Thanks to a few inquisitive people we also know the full list of the games achievements which include tasks such as Eat 50 KGB Agents with the Yeti and Head bite 50 enemies without touching the ground or firing. The game will most likely also have leaderboards as all XBLA titles seem to do that these days.

As off yet there has been no confirmation of the price of the title but due to the amount of content available 1200 is likely. We however would like the see it appear at 800 points as it would get significantly more downloads at that price – and judging by what we thought of other versions of the game it deserves to be played by as many people as possible.
