Adriano Signs For Konami + New Pro Evo 6 Screens

Konami Digital Entertainment GmbH has announced that Adriano – the renowned Brazil and Inter Milan striker – is to be the pan-European face of the eagerly-awaited Pro Evolution Soccer 6.

The signing of Adriano comes as Konami brings the much-loved Pro Evolution Soccer 6 to new formats for the first time. In addition to the PlayStation 2, PC-DVD and PSP™ (PlayStation®Portable) versions, Konami will also be releasing versions for Nintendo DS and Xbox 360 in the autumn.

The addition of Brazilian legend Adriano to the Pro Evolution Soccer 6 team also confirms Konami’s commitment to working with the best talent in the modern game. Adriano will appear on the game packaging all across Europe, with additional local players to be announced shortly. “I am really looking forward to working with Konami on what everyone knows to be the most realistic football game around,” the striker said. “Pro Evolution Soccer 6 is known worldwide for its quality and I am delighted to be associated with such a fine series.”

“Adriano is rightly regarded as a player with skill, pace and passion – all key elements to success in Pro Evolution Soccer 6,” commented Martin Schneider, European Marketing Director for Konami Digital Entertainment GmbH. “We are very excited to be working with such a talent, and further new signings will be announced in the coming weeks.”

We are excited to see yet another big name associated with the best football game around. With Pro Evo 5 we had Terry and Henry – realistically it doesn’t get any better than that so Pro Evo 6 would always struggle to match this. I’m sure all gamers will be hoping Konami spends as much effort on the in-game presentation as they will on the packaging. Fifa’s World Cup 2006 has such a brilliant presentation it would be nice to Konami to try and match it.

Here are some screenshots of the new game. The likenesses in particularare quite impressive. The first 4 are from the PS2 version, with the final one a ‘next-gen render’ of how the Xbox 360 version might look, but don’t count on it till we see some in-game 360 screenshots.
