The demo of EA’s free-running title, Mirror’s Edge is available on both Xbox Live Marketplace and the Playstation Network Store. Previously, the unlockable Time Trial mode included within the demo was only accessible to those gamers who had preordered the special edition of Mirror’s Edge (i.e. no-one), but now, possibly in an attempt to drum up more interest in the game, the extra mode is now available to all.

To unlock the Time Trial, players will need to select ‘Race’, then ‘Play Time Trial’. The demo will still request that you enter a sixteen-digit code, but any random assortment of letters or numbers will suffice. (i.e. LONG-JUMP-LOUD-FART).

EA says “Time Trial is an addictive mode that challenges players to find the fastest routes throughout the city. Gamers can upload their best time to the Mirror’s Edge online leaderboards for their friends to download and compete against. Players can see their friend’s ‘ghost’ run as they race to the top of the leaderboards.”

Mirror’s Edge was released on Xbox 360 and Playstation 3 on Nov 11th to mixed reviews , and is coming out on PC on 16th January 2009.
