Heavy Rain is an “experience based on emotion”
At Leipzig, David Cage, the president of Quantic Games has spoken about Heavy Rain, the upcoming game from them that looks really, really nice looking. Cage comments that “[t]onight is the first time you have truly seen this game” to the watching audience, and tells then they will get to experience “mature content” and “complex stories” when they play it.
He then goes onto say that “[w]e think about it not like a video game, but as a different kind of experience based on emotion.” We have no idea what he means by that.
A very small bit of gameplay that featured bad weather, knifes, mannequins and doors was then played live on stage, using quick-time-event style gestures to select different movements for your character. Then the game disappeared, and David Cage left.
We are still confused by Heavy Rain!
