Midway Date Blacksite and Stranglehold
When speaking to some of the Eurogamer staff that have found their way over to the US, Midway has confirmed that European territories will be graced with Stranglehold on the 7th September and a quick week after that will be getting Blacksite on the 14th. Both the PC, 360 and PS3 seem to be getting the game at exactly the same time, without any delays that seem to have effect many multi-console releases recently. It has also been confirmed that a demo of Stranglehold will be making it way on the Live Marketplace, PC and PSN sometime next month, a Blacksite demo is already available on Live.
Stranglehold is a third-person shooter, and Midways first attempt at using Unreal Engine 3. The game is being developed in collaboration with John Woo, with the action set in Hong Kong and Chicago. Chow Yun-Fat plays the role of Inspector “Tequila” Yuen, a reprisal of his role in John Woo’s 1992 action movie Hard Boiled.
Blacksite, or Blacksite Area 51 to give it its fill name, is a FPS set in the titular secret military research facility in Nevada. In the game players assume the role of Aeran Pierce who can issue squad tactics to his team mates as they advance in the game.
