Factor 5 Wonder Why Everyone Hates Lair

There are many things in this world that give you a bad feeling, and you know what you are doing is very wrong. For example choosing to watch Basic Instinct with your parents in the same room, that not good, and as you get further into the movie you want to sink behind a cushion and pretend the whole thing is not happening. Also choosing to sing Afternoon Delight at a karaoke party with a friend, that’s another bad idea and you just get even more uncomfortable as the lyrics start to sound a little bit dirtier than you first suspected.

Yes, there are certainly loads of things that give you a bad feeling in this world, and for most gamers Lair is on of those things. However, Factor 5 are confused as to why you hate it so much. “What’s disappointing to me is that almost every single person in and outside of the industry who is little bit more of a hardcore gamer had a huge problem with it, and we, quite frankly, didn’t anticipate that,” Factor 5 boss Julian Eggebrecht told IGN in a recent interview. “I hope that a lot of people realise that underlying the problem they had with the base control was a really good game. At least, that’s what I think. Well, what else would I say?

We really don’t understand his reasoning, maybe he is just forgetting it takes more than just a bucket load of beautiful looking science and maths to make a good game. Crucially, there has to be a heart at its core, and Lair just did not have that, in fact it was no where near.
