Pokemon Gold and Silver getting DS remake

Nintendo have confirmed that Pokemon Gold and Silver will be getting a re-release on the DS. The remakes will go by the name Pokemon Heart Gold and Pokemon Soul Silver, and will boast extras exclusive to the DS. No details on what these extras are as of yet.

The Gold/Silver games first came out in Japan in 1999 for the Game Boy Colour, with a Euro/US release in 2000. We guess Nintendo will celebrate this re-release as a 10th Anniversary celebration of the game.

Nintendo will be showing Japan their Pokemon this Autumn, no date for a Euro/US showing as of yet.
