16 big brands coming to Lego Dimensions

In a single trailer Warner Bros. have unveiled 16 new brands for Lego Dimensions. This, along with new Battle Arenas and Story expansions underline the lead its taking in the toys-to-life genre.

Lego Dimensions Wave 6 grows to include Adventure Time, Mission Impossible,  The A-Team and Harry Potter. These are then followed in later waves by expansion packs for Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them,  The LEGO Batman Movie, The Goonies, Sonic The Hedgehog, Teen Titans Go!, LEGO City Undercover, Knight Rider, The Powerpuff Girls, Gremlins, Beetlejuice and E.T. The Extra-Terrestrial.

This matches the level of content we saw at reveal for Lego Dimensions last year but Warner Bros. have been much more forthcoming at telling us about all these brands. While some had hoped for the likes of Sonic, Gremlins and The Goonies based on leaked pack codes on Lego’s website it seemed too good to be true.

Today we have the confirmation and fair warning that it’s time to start saving up. To play each of these different brand’s stories you need to purchase the related expansion pack – Level pack, Team pack, Fun pack and Story pack.

The Story packs are new and offer a 6 level expansion around a specific brand. The first of these will be Ghostbusters to be followed by Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them.

All the new mini-figures come on orange rather than blue bases. These signify their ability to unlock the new Battle Arena modes that let multiple players fight it out in different locations.

Overall this is a robust update for Lego Dimensions. There’s a bit of something for everyone from child-friendly Powederpuff Girls to sentimental parent’s classics like The A-Team and Knight Rider.
