Guitar Hero II Confirmed For Xbox360
Guitar Hero II is going to be rocking a new stage! RedOctane announced today that the Guitar Hero crew will bring their award-winning tour to the Xbox 360 “The tour will continue the rockin’ gameplay Guitar Hero fans have come to enjoy, and will now include expanded Xbox 360 capabilities,” said Kai Huang, president of RedOctane. “With Guitar Hero II for Xbox 360 rock rhythm, lead, or bass guitar tracks with downloadable content and the new X-Plorer controller, designed specifically for the Xbox 360.”
RedOctane will reveal an early glimpse of Guitar Hero II and the X-Plorer controller at X06, the Xbox brand experience for the games and entertainment industry, being held on September 27th and 28th in Barcelona, Spain. This industry event is open to media and retailers from around the world to view the next-generation of games and accessories.
“With its large integrated hard drive, Xbox 360 provides an incredible platform for facilitating downloadable content,” said Dusty Welch, Head of Publishing, RedOctane. “We believe there is no better title to feature micro-transactions than a music game like Guitar Hero II, where the content is the basis of your experience. The relationship with the Xbox Live Marketplace creates endless possibilities for exclusive content.”

It could well be a mock-up than an actual photo, a lot of the early official X360 pictures we saw looked a little on the fake side. This game is well suited to the marketplace. Whether it's good that gamers could be charged for each additional song is questionable, the costs could quickly mount up. But it's great to have the option there to instill new life into the game.

All first shots off a piece of hardware/accessory are photoshop's as they have yet to select a manufacturer build the thing (in this case the guitar), this is what the final product will look like though.

I think it is a great idea to bring guitar hero to the xbox. Another idea ive been thinking about is a game where you can have one dummer, one guitarist, and one bass player play a song at a time. that seems like it would be fun, then you and all your friends could make a song, rather than one or two at a time. we need to show some love for those drummers and bass players out there!!!

DarkZero was at the launch party this week and this game looks GOOD. I hear the wireless guitar on the 360 could be a problem as access to that area is currently not allowed for 3rd party hardware. But surely Microsoft will see fit to make an exception here.

ok im reading this months XBOX magazine and it talks about guitar hero2 being for 360 so yea this is real and the guitar is a gibson. The contraller wont be wireless sadly but it will still be sweet!
