Shadows of Kurgansk

Shadows of Kurgansk is a single player horror survival title that transports players into a dark and hostile environment called the Zone, challenging them to escape the haunted area sane and alive. Dangerous enemy attacks are just a drop in the ocean compared to the real nightmares that await: a wrong foot in the quest to escape can lead to anomalies that can slow players down, drive them insane or even kill them. When the night kicks in, keeping sanity levels intact gets even harder as more eerie creatures set out on the hunt for human flesh. The character might starve to death or be driven insane unless the player exploits resources in the environment and improves their character. Needless to say, the Zone will never be a safe place to hide, therefore players must find a way out of it as quickly as possible. Search, hunt and discover to stay alive.

With series regulars Geese Howard, Billy Kane, and the newly introduced Hein, Team South Town is basically Team Fatal Fury with bad guys in The King of Fighters XIV.

Lantern

1C  announced that it will be bringing peace and harmony to PC gamers with Lantern. Developed by Storm in a Teacup, this particular take on gaming in East Asian-inspired environments is designed to evoke a general sensation of positivity. It achieves this with a laid-back pace, mellow gameplay and pleasing visuals, fostered by an ambient East Asian soundtrack. Straightforward gameplay and simple controls go hand-in-hand with the game’s relaxing vibes, making it easy for players to just sit back and enjoy a few tranquil moments of stress-free gaming. Lantern will be released on PC in November 2016, with support for both Oculus Rift and HTC Vive, allowing players to further immerse themselves in its unique environment.

Exist Archive: The Other Side of the Sky

Aksys Games, tri-Ace and Spike Chunsoft announces that Exist Archive: The Other Side of the Sky will release 18th October 2016 physically and digitally in North America for the PS4 and Vita. tri-Ace, architects of the JRPG series Star Ocean and Valkyrie Profile celebrate 20 years of RPG mastery with Exist Archive: The Other Side of the Sky. Prepare for an expansive RPG adventure that plunges the player into a mysterious realm beyond imagination! Pokken Tournament

Bandai Namco has announced a new playable Pokemon, Darkrai, for the arcade release of Pokken Tournament. I expect this Pokemon will hit the Wii U version sometime in the future.

Fallout Shelter

Today Bethesda Softworks released Fallout Shelter Update 1.6, the biggest update yet for the smash hit mobile game by Bethesda Game Studios that has thrust more than 50 million players into the role of Overseer to build their own Vault, manage dwellers, and adventure through Fallout’s iconic wasteland. Update 1.6 introduces an exciting new Quest system with a new combat mechanic, as well as two new items for Overseers in a hurry: the Starter Pack allows players to jump-start a new Vault, and Nuka-Cola Quantum speeds up Dwellers returning from the Wasteland and certain Vault tasks. In addition, Fallout Shelter launched today on PC, bringing the game to an all-new platform, and can be downloaded now, for free, via the Bethesda.net launcher.

FOX n FORESTS

German game developer Bonus Level Entertainment today revealed its multiplatform game FOX n FORESTS, set for a Fall 2017 release as digital download. The Kickstarter campaign for the 2D action platformer continues until August 13, 2016. FOX n FORESTS is a 2D 16-Bit-style action platformer with adventure and puzzle elements. Set within a mystic forest and its surroundings, FOX n FORESTS is a stunning fable offering pixel perfect retrotainment and rewarding challenges. You play as Rick the Fox and your weapon is a magic melee crossbow that can not only be used for ranged and close up combat, but empowers you to seamlessly switch between two seasons per level, completely changing the whole environment and revealing amazing secrets, tricky skill tests and thriving exploration.

2K and Firaxis Games today released a new video on The Art of Civilization VI. Civilization VI features strong visual themes of exploration, along with a new stylized design that makes it much brighter and more visually distinct from previous games.

Independent mobile game developer Traplight announced today that its social racing game Big Bang Racing will accelerate onto Google Play and the App Store worldwide on July 28th. As the first ever mobile game where the player experience consists solely of User-Generated Content, Big Bang Racing is a colorful, physics based mobile racing and puzzle game. The game’s core feature is an easy-to-use touch screen optimized level editor, which players use to build their own death-defying levels.

Mobius Final Fantasy

Square Enix today announced that Final Fantasy fans across the world can look forward to an all new experience in Mobius Final Fantasy – the first ever console quality Final Fantasy game specifically designed for mobile devices. Arriving on iOS and Android on the 3rd August, Mobius Final Fantasy takes players on an all new RPG adventure filled with deep character customisation, ongoing live events and HD graphics that push the boundaries of the mobile platform.

WWE 2K17

2K today announced plans for the NXT Edition of WWE  2K1 7, the forthcoming release in the flagship WWE video game franchise. Limited to 50,000 copies worldwide, the offering will celebrate the explosive growth and popularity of NXT, WWE’s global brand best known for creating and developing the company’s emerging Superstars. The WWE 2K17 NXT Edition will be available for the PlayStation 4 computer, as well as Xbox One, exclusively from GAME for a suggested retail price of £79.99 and €99.99 from GameStop in Republic of Ireland.
