PS4 UK Price Drop Incoming and New Model

During the Tokyo Game Show Sony announced that they were dropping the price of the PlayStation 4 in Japan and in other Asian territories. They have now announced that a £50 price drop, on the 500GB model, is heading to the UK on October 9th which happens to be around the beginning of the Christmas shopping season and the release date of Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection. Happy days! This means the 500GB consoles price will be dropping from £349 to £299, while the 1TB console will be priced at £329.

I think I prefer the new matte finish.

Unfortunately there has been no word of a price drop in any other European territories or North America, but those are such large markets that I can’t imagine Sony ignoring them for long. It’s also worth noting that Europe will be receiving the slightly updated models of the PS4. These have a completely matte finish on the console, they’re slightly quitter and the touch-sensitive buttons have been replaced with actual buttons, there is also a few other minor changes, but the consoles size has not been reduced so this is not the PS4 Slim.
