New SARPBC DLC Coming to Rocket League

What a lot of people don’t realise is that Rocket League is actually the sequel to a PS3 game called (and I’m only writing this once!) Supersonic Acrobatic Rocket-Powered Battle-Cars. On that note if you don’t own a PS4 yet and don’t have a Steam account SARPBC only costs €2.50 on PS3, so you can get a taste of that Rocket League action on a last-gen console. Now to the matter at hand, the Rocket League developers, Psyonix, have decided to pay homage to the original game with the new SARPBC DLC pack called Revenge of the Battle-Cars. The pack will arrive in a few weeks and contains: Two Battle-Cars (Scarab and Zippy), 12 new decals, 3 new paint types, 2 new wheels, 2 new Rocket Boosts, 4 new Toppers, 2 new Antennas and 5 new trophies. The pack will cost €3.99/£3.29 when it arrives.

While you have to pay for the car packs Psyonix is releasing new maps for free via updates so the games community doesn’t get divided between those who have the maps and those that don’t. In the spirit of that they’re also releasing two variations of existing maps for free: Urban Stadium (Night) and Utopia Coliseum (Dusk). These will be the last regular maps to come for a while so expect a little more creativity in the following updates, maybe something akin to the pirate ship map in SARPBC. Along with the new maps the free update will also net you new music and country/community flags. Expect these updates and the DLC pack in a few weeks.
