Metro: Last Light release date confirmed

Metro: Last Light has been dated by new publisher Deep Silver, and UK and US gamers can expect a return trip to bleak horror later this Spring.

The official date is May 14th, and the game will be released on Xbox 360, PS3, and PC platforms. A statement to VG247 from Dr. Klemens Kundratitz, CEO of Koch Media, mentioned that “[t]he new release date is the ideal way to strike the balance between bringing the best out of Metro: Last Light and not keep the fans waiting longer than necessary. We won’t leave that time unexploited and will work closely together with 4A Games to make the game even better. It will receive all the attention it deserves.”

Additionally, the game’s official Twitter feed posted an announcement explaining the slight delay in the game’s release:

When it was still a THQ property, Last Light had been scheduled for an early March release, so here’s hoping the extra bit of time  really allows Deep Silver the chance to polish the highly anticipated sequel to Metro 2033.
