Yakuza 3 breaks the 500,000 mark in Japan

Sega announced today that Ryu ga Gotoku 3 (Yakuza 3) has surpassed the 500,000 copies shipped milestone in Japan in just 3 short weeks since its release. The firm went onto confirm that the Yakuza series, which consist of three games, all Playstation platform exclusives, has shipped 3.2 million copies globally.

There is no set Euro or US date for Yakuza 3 as of yet, and we honestly would not even start to get excited till at least 2010, as these kind of localisation always takes ages.

There is a demo available on the Japanese PlayStation store though, should you want to see what the fuss is all about. You’ll need a Japanese PSN account to grab it, but you can easily set up one so you can get the demo, along with other Japan exclusive content should you so wish.
