XCOM Coming to a Vita near You

According to the ESRB rating board XCOM is on its way to PlayStation Vita. ESRB listed the game as XCOM: Enemy Unknown Plus and gave it a “Mature” rating. Here’s why “If an alien “implants” an egg into a dead human, the character will eventually explode amid additional gibbing effects. Some scenes depict dead or dying soldiers whose bodies are burned or mutilated. The words “f**k,” “sh*t,” and “a*shole” can be heard in the dialogue.” How dreadful the soldiers use rude words as they’re mangled by aliens, I think I might have let them away with that one.

XCOM EU

That’s all we know for certain about Vita’s upcoming entry to the XCOM series. More than likely it will be a direct port of the PlayStation 3 version of the game which could potentially work really well using the Vita’s touchscreen. If we find out any more about the game or its release date DarkZero will be sure to let you know. It would be nice to have a new triple-A Vita game launching in the upcoming holiday season, but if Sony wait until as late in the year as Paris Games Week or PlayStation Experience to announce it that probably won’t happen. XCOM 2, the sequel to 2012’s XCOM: Enemy Unknown, is coming to PC on February 5th 2016, the developer’s say it won’t be coming to console but maybe if enough people ask nicely enough, or loudly enough, they can persuade them to port it.
