World of Warcraft struck by Zombie Plague

In the run up to the launch of Wrath of the Lich King, which will go live 13th November, a plague has struck Wow. It seems the plague originates from infected crates in Booty Bay with a disease that turns you into a zombie hitting you if you open one. If you then go on to attack other people, they get the disease.

If you don’t want to be a Zombie, then apparently you can get cured by other players who can cast ‘Cure Disease’ or by visiting new special healer NPCs in the cities before the disease takes hold. However, once the disease has run its course and a character has become a zombie, the only cure is death.

If you turn into a Zombie you then become part of a special faction, regardless of if you were part of the Horde or Alliance when you were a mortal. NPCs will also see you as an an enemy, and you can cast new, unique zombie spells.
