Wii Shop games now playable from an SD Card

Nintendo have released a new update for Wii, and it’s kind of a biggie, as it allows you to play any game or application bought of the Wii Shop direct from from an SD card placed in the machine. This included all channels, WiiWare and Virtual Console games.

In one quick swoop, this goes some way to ending the storage problems many have had with the Wii in the past, with many gamers have to delete and re-download games just to make space.

It is currently unknown what capacity SD Cards Wii will support when using the feature, but 2GB is confirmed at least. Update: 8GB works as well!
