Wii makes it into Top 20 wedding gift list

The Telegraph reports that Nintendo Wii’s are quickly becoming a must for married couples, as the console has recently entered into the top 20 most popular items to appear on young couples’ wedding lists. The news comes from UK retailer John Lewis who highlight they’ve noticed a change in what newlyweds want to be gifted nowadays.

“Two years ago, the top 20 products on the Gift List were exclusively traditional items from linens, kitchenware, china and glass but, in the second half of last year, the Wii sports pack made it to the top 20,” comments Tracey Yates, senior analyst, Gift List at John Lewis, said.

Apparently, sound docks for mp3 player and high definition televisions were high on the list too. Reports also cite that the traditional silver photo frame have been overtaken by digital photo frames as well. Sad times!
