US Pokemon Preorders Break Half Million Mark

Nintendo has today announced that pre-orders for the upcoming US release of both Pokemon Diamond and Pearl have brook the half million mark and currently stand at more than 533,000. The new games are scheduled to hit U.S. store shelves on April 22. Nintendo boast that these early pre-order numbers are over twice as strong as the presale numbers for the release of Pokemon FireRed and LeafGreen which launched in 2004 and went on to sell more than 3.4 million units combined in North America.

Currently no Euro date has been announced for the release of the game but if you feel like adding yourself to that rather high number of US buyers you could always import the game from the US.
