UK Sales Chart – Week ending 29th November

Despite dropping in sales by 30%, Call of Duty: World at War stays at the top of the charts for a third week running. It’s the first title to manage three consecutive weeks at No.1 since GTA IV.

1. Call of Duty: World at War (Treyarch)
2. Need for Speed: Undercover (EA Black Box)
3. FIFA 09 (EA Canada)
4. Mario Kart Wii (Nintendo)
5. Tomb Raider: Underworld (Crystal Dynamics)
6. Pro Evolution Soccer 2009 (Konami Digital)
7. Guitar Hero: World Tour (Vicarious Visions
8. Resistance 2 (Insomniac)
9. Wii Music (Nintendo)
10. Wii Fit (Nintendo)
11. Fallout 3 (Bethesda)
12. Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games (Sega)
13. Gears of War 2 (Epic Games)
14. Football Manager 2009 (Sports Interactive)
15. Quantum of Solace (Treyarch)
16. WWE Smackdown Vs Raw 2009 (Yuke’s)
17. Nintendogs: Lab & Friends (Nintendo)
18. Far Cry 2 (Ubisoft Montreal)
19. MySims Kingdom (EA Redwood Shores)
20. LittleBigPlanet (Media Molecule)

Although Call of Duty: World at War sold less this week than last, it proves to be the exception, as three-quarters of the titles in the Top 20 have increased in units sold since last week.

Both of last week’s big new releases climb a few places this week with EA’s Need for Speed: Undercover up from No. 4 to No. 2 with a 35% jump in sales and Eidos’ Tomb Raider: Underworld up from No.8 to No.5 with 12% increase in copies shifted.

EA also claim the third spot with FIFA 09 dropping one place despite a 12% increase in sales, and Nintendo’s Mario Kart Wii experienced a sales increase of 17% and dropped one place too.

Pro Evolution Soccer 2009 managed an impressive 21% increase in sales to climb one place up the charts, and despite a slight 1% decrease in sales Guitar Hero: World Tour moved up two places from No.9 to No.7.

The only new release to make the Top 20 this week is Sony’s Playstation 3-exclusive, Resistance 2. The sequel managed to enter in at No.8, but only sold out two-thirds of what the original Resistance: Fall of Man sold in its launch week.

Sonic the Hedgehog’s latest offering, Unleashed had dismal launch-week sales. Not only did it not make it into the All-Formats Top 20, it was only the 34th best-selling game on Wii this week…It was even outsold by Sonic and The Secret Rings which came out over 20 months ago.

However, Sonic still has a place in the charts along with Mario At The Olympic Games, which is still in the Top 20 a year after release, despite Olympic Fever having all but subsided.
