FIFA 09 kicks off an unchanged Top 3, as EA’s footy title manages to hold onto the second consecutive No. 1 spot of 2009. However, the gap between FIFA and Call of Duty: World at War has shrunk from 5,000 to 400 units.

1. FIFA 09 (EA Canada)
2. Call of Duty: World at War (Treyarch)
3. Need for Speed: Undercover (EA Black Box)
4. Wii Fit (Nintendo)
5. Guitar Hero: World Tour (Vicarious Visions)
6. Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games (Sega)
7. Mario Kart Wii (Nintendo)
8. Far Cry 2 (Ubisoft Montreal)
9. Dr. Kawashima’s Brain Training (Nintendo)
10. Quantum of Solace (Treyarch)
11. Fallout 3 (Bethesda)
12. Gears of War 2 (Epic Games)
13. 100 Classic Book Collection (Genius Sonority)
14. Lego Batman: The Videogame (Traveller’s Tales)
15. Prince of Persia (Ubisoft Montreal)
16. Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare (Infinity Ward)
17. Pro Evolution Soccer 2009 (Konami Digital)
18. Sonic Unleashed (Sonic Team)
19. Shaun White Snowboarding (Ubisoft Montreal)
20. Rayman Raving Rabbids TV Party (Ubisoft France)

EA’s Need for Speed Undercover sticks at No.3 as sales of almost all Top 20 titles more than halve. Wii Fit is a notable exception to this, star jumping up the chart from No. 15 to No.4, no doubt boosted by some well-intentioned New Year resolutions to shed the pounds gained over the Christmas period.

The remaining top 10 games all shuffle places, except for Dr. Kawashima’s Brain Training which climbed from No.13 to No.9. This pushed Gears of War 2 down from No. 9 to No.12.

100 Classic Book Collection moved up seven places, from No.20 to No.13. Whilst Sonic Unleashed moved the other way by six places, down from No.12 to No. 18, and Tomb Raider Underworld went from No.10 last week to out of the Top 20 this week.

In contrast to Lara Croft, Activision’s Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare made a surprise re-appearance in the Top 20, shooting up fifteen places to No. 16. Likewise, Rayman Raving Rabbids TV Party also popped up to say hello, just scraping into the bottom of the Top 20.
