UK Sales Chart – Week ending 20th September

The Force is strong this week, as Star Wars: The Force Unleashed becomes the biggest ever launch for a Star Wars title. It also became the 10th fastest selling next-gen game ever and despite launching across six platforms almost 50% of sales were on 360.

1. Star Wars: The Force Unleashed (Lucasarts)
2. Wii Fit (Nintendo)
3. Mario Kart Wii (Nintendo)
4. Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning (Mythic Entertainment)
5. Tiger Woods PGA Tour 09 (EA Tiburon)
6. Mercenaries 2: World in Flames (Pandemic Studios)
7. Spore (Maxis)
8. Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock (Neversoft)
9. TNA Impact! (Midway)
10. Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games (Sega)
11. Lego Indiana Jones: Original Adventures (Traveller’s Tales)
12. Mario Kart DS (Nintendo)
13. Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare (Infinity Ward)
14. Rock Band (Harmonix)
15. Crysis Warhead (Crytek Budapest)
16. Too Human (Silicon Knights)
17. Guitar Hero: On Tour (Vicarious Visions)
18. Grand Theft Auto IV (Rockstar North)
19. Battlefield: Bad Company (Digital Illusions)
20. Imagine: Teacher (Magic Pockets)

The Force Unleashed became the biggest multi-format release since GTA IV, but Nintendo won’t be too dismayed as renewed stock of Wii Fit and Mario Kart Wii have pushed sales of these titles up to 2nd and 3rd place respectively.

EA went from owning the top 3 last week, to having no games in the top 3 this week. Spore, Mercenaries and Tiger Woods have slipped into the 5th, 6th and 7th places. EA also have the only other new entries in the chart this week, with PC games Warhammer Online and Crysis: Warhead.

Sales of Guitar Hero III have rocketed, thanks to retailer promotions for the Wii version, jumping from 19th to 8th. Yet sales of Guitar Hero: On Tour plummeted from 7th place to 17th.
