Ubi announce pointless Grey’s Anatomy game for some reason

terriblegame_news

It seems Ubisoft have put thier heads together, and decided that Grey’s Anatomy is good enough to ‘deserve’ a game. In the press release that accompanied the announcement no mention of the developer involved was made, which leads us to believe it has been outsourced to the Arctic. The game will however be released on Wii, Nintendo DS, and PC on early 2009, because Ubisoft obviosuly thinks those people will be exploitable enough to pick it up.

Ubisoft is thrilled to be collaborating with ABC Studios to turn this phenomenal television series into an interactive experience,” said Christian Salomon, vice president of arseholeness at Ubisoft. “In Grey’s Anatomy: The Video Game, fans will have a chance to take on the roles of all of their favorite doctors in an all-new original storyline. As each doctor, players will make important personal and professional decisions, explore the direct relationships with each other, and perform the delicate surgeries the series is known for, all through fun and engaging game play.

Sure, we don’t know how the game will turn out yet, but we have already decided it will be not good. So, if I see anyone buying this I will slap them. I will also hide copies of the game behind Boom Blox for good measure.

  1. As much as I hate these ott, straight talking american medical dramas.

Im not therefore going to defend this tripe.

    Good journalism.

  2. I’m just waiting until they try and make a videogame out of a soap opera.

Emmerdale: The Video Game coming Fall 2010 to all major consoles.

  3. I think theres been a neighbours game, correct me if im wrong.

  4. Theoretically games based on a TV show could be great, but it’s quite challenging to translate the appeal, particularly to a non-gaming audiance. The CSI games have suceeded to some extent, but at not as good as the show.

I’d imagine a GTA IV style Eastenders game could be great fun, if you were given the freedom to do crazy things. No doubt everyone would argue over who would be Barry.

Steve, there was indeed a Neighbours game back in the Amiga days.

    Highlights follow…

This racing game is set in the Ramsay Street universe…

Nominally you play Scott Robinson, riding his skateboard in races against between one and four fellow characters – Mike Young on another skateboard, Charlene Ramsay in a go-kart, her brother Henry on a lawnmower, and Matt Robinson on a motorcycle. The eight races take in Ramsay Street, the Lassiter’s Complex, Erinsborough High School, and Anson’s Corner.

… hazards include kangaroos, emus and other animals, Bouncer the dog, Mrs. Mangel, and traffic bollards.

Surely this is all made up!
