Gran Turismo developers Polyphony Digital have announced details of a deal with BBC Worldwide to let you watch Top Gear on your PS3.

The plan is to let gamers watch 40 episodes via new Gran Turismo TV channel, launch on the PlayStation Network at some stage next year.

Best of all for fans of the series, the BBC has given the go-ahead for the famous test-track from the show to be replicated in Gran Turismo 5. Can you beat Stig?

“We’re sure that players will be as thrilled as we are when they get the chance to put their own driving skills to the test on the Top Gear Test Track in GT5, as well as enjoying classic episodes of Top Gear via GT TV,”
Kazunori Yamauchi, Polyphony Digital.

No word on a date for GT5 in Europe but we’re expecting a Q3/Q4 2008 release.

They'd best have the Suzuki Liana in the game.

I'm aware, but the Liana was infinitely better and more memorable than the ... Chevrolet? they've got now.
