THQ announce full Saints Row 2 radio tracklisting

  1. Looks great to me. An excellent variety of new and old. Looks better than GTA’s tracklist to me, but I wonder if they’ll have any Talk Radio?

  2. Whatta crap radio listing. pathetic attempt to copy GTA! These guys are LAME the only good song there (besides the classical channel) is: Take On Me by A-Ha - Well there are a few other ones as well. These guys are so pathetic some on the songs listed here are ON GTA vice city, how lame is that!! but I’m still gonna get the game, but I certainly wont be listening to the radio!

It seems pretty terrible to me. GTA at least tries to get something a bit different to what you hear on normal radio (apart from that horrible Ne-Yo song), but this track list sounds crap. Heaps of these songs are ones that have already been over-played by real-life radio stations. Take 89GEN-X (if that’s what it says) for example. Yuck.

The only good songs I see here are Wolfmother’s Woman and Shoot The Runner by Kasabian. The ‘Klassic’ (why do they use K all the way through, by the way) radio station is good though. Classical music is great for shooting stuff!

  4. I have it on good authority (from one of the Saints Row 2 developers) that one of the secret achievements is gained by waiting for ‘Take On Me’ to come on the radio, then leaving the controller alone, which causes your character to start singing along to the radio.
As to whether this soundtrack is better or worse than GTA, that’s a matter of personal musical preference. Personally, to me it seems better than GTAIV and as good as San Andreas and Vice City. The Classical and Dancehall stations look especially good.

  5. it won’t stop me buying the game, but i can only but hope the radio can be turned off because the vast amount of those songs don’t appeal at all.

  6. Saints Row soundtrack was great last time, this one looks good too, no Editors though :(

  7. No big names at all.

And really the best music comes from the big names, so that set list doesn’t appeal to me at all. Nor did GTA4’s but at least it had R.E.M and Smashing Pumpkins.

    No big names??

    What’re you fucking stupid??

I recognize every single band on there

  9. the music on this new game is good but saints row are defo tryna copy GTA too bad i prefer gta to this though as at leaste someone has thought about it this game is just like a re write copy of gta and dats poop

  10. There certainly would be no Saints Row without GTA. But if you play both GTA IV and Saints Row 2 you’ll see that the franchises are no longer moving in the same direction. Saints Row has its own distinctive design style now.
