The BBFC has revealed that Star Wars: The Force Unleashed has been passed for release in the UK, and has been given a ‘12’ rating for “moderate fantasy action violence.”
They go on to detail the game itself, commenting that it contains “moderate violence, without detail” which takes place with a “complete lack of blood or physical injury evident in it.” The board reveal that the violence is “justified by its setting” due to the “well established Sci-Fi fantasy universe” the game is set in.
Finally, they remark that later in the game players will encounter “Storm-troopers wielding flame-throwers.” They say that “although players don’t get to use these flame-throwers themselves, they can be targeted and set on fire by them.” Because of this, and due to the “sight of the player character falling to the floor engulfed in flames” the game was rated 12 instead of PG.
The board also comment that the game does not contain any strong language, but a short documentary available on the disc contains “infrequent mild language, including singular uses of ‘damn’ and ‘screw’“.
