Team 17 announce Worms 3 – the 21st Worms game
Worms 1 came out in 1995. and Worms 2 came out in 1997. Now finally, after 77 years of hurt, in the year 2013 AD. Worms 3 is finally seeing a release. It is an iOS exclusive – this will probably make some people angry. It has AirPlay though, so you “can” play it on your TV if you “really” want to.
Team 17 boast that Worms 3 (the 21st Worms game) will have graphics of the 2D variety to see in high definition with your eyes.
27 Single player missions, asynchronous multiplayer, and pass and play modes will also be things the 21st Worms game has.
The play arenas, of which there are 4, will be Beach, Spooky, Farmyard and Sewer. Team 17 have included Sewers in the game because there is not enough of them in all other games ever already.
New weapons include the Nora’s Virus, Black Hole Grenade, Canned Heat – but there will still be sheep.
Kotaku have already used the “non-arthropod invertebrate” line in their news story– so I will inform you the word “Worm” stems from the Old English word wyrm.
There are a few months to wait until it comes out – until then maybe try Worms 4: Mayhem – which was released in 2005
