Midway Sued Over Psi-Ops

[intro][quote:d8c7f3873f="Nogert"]Pyschic combat, that mean mean like brainwashed people wouldn’t it, fighting against there own will.

How can he say they stole there story ? if anything he did thats been used loads of times it’s what happends in Red Alert 2.

He’s probably just short on cash otherwise he would have done this when the game was released.[/quote:d8c7f3873f]
It’s not about mind control, it’s more about telekenises. Top game BTW, totally underrated.

They did not see that coming[/intro] Although he is a little bit late to the party - as the game was released way back in October 1st of 2004 - a screenwriter is suing Midway Games as he claims the main character and a many aspects of the plot were stolen from a script he wrote in 1998. The posh sounding William L. Crawford III cites that there are uncanny similarities between both the game and his screenplay. He says they both feature government forces trained in psychic combat, along with similar character details such as clothing, build and background story. It is also though that Crawford visited E3 in 2001 to showcase his project and also set up websites with details of the story and concept art. GamesIndustry.biz state that the US Copyright Office has both the screenplay and game registered on its website - we cant find the links though. With Crawford's Psi-ops dated March 1998, and Midway's Psi-Ops: The Mindgate Conspiracy listed from July 2004. Crawford is seeking at least US $1.5 million in damages.
