Spore hailed as one of 2008’s best inventions by TIME

TIME has just listed their Top 50 inventions of 2008, and interestingly Spore has come in at number 20. TIME comment that their not sure if it’s “blasphemy, brilliance or both” as they describe Spore as a game where you “take the entire evolution of a species — from a single-celled animalcule in a drop of water to a space-faring, galaxy-exploring sentient being — and turn it into a video game.“

Other crazy stuff that would confuse your granny that was apparently better than Spore, at least according to TIME, were The Retail DNA Test, The Tesla Roadster, and  The Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter. They came first, second and third respectively. Spore however came one position above Synthetic Organism. Take that Synthetic Organism, you suck!

We gave Spore 6 out of 10 in our review, which must mean we are much harder to impress. We probably would have only gave Synthetic Organism a 2 though.
