After many years in the dumps, almost a decade if you don’t own a handheld, and an atrocious debut on current generation machines Sega has once again released screenshots of a new Sonic game – Sonic Unleashed. They don’t confirm which platforms the new game is for, but from the looks of them we’d say PS3/360. Also, dare we say it the screenshots actually look quite good. Hopefully, more details on the game will be revealed further down the line, hopefully they will impress too, and hopefully none of Sonic’s annoying friends appearance in any of them.
Is it okay to get excited about a Sonic game nowadays ?

The first one on rows 1 & 2 look amazingly crisp, then you see the other pictures with characters and you remember the over the top, massively annoying childlike accents.
But surely this has to be an improvement.

i won’t be getting excited over this. after the distaster that was the last one, i’ll be waiting until this is on offer before i even consider it.

There is no way they are fake, there is almost 50 more screenshots than the ones posted above released, and unless a team of people got togeather no one would have the time to do all of those. Apparently Sega did not want to release the screens yet though, and making them public was a mistake on thier part.

Yeah I found out their legitimacy about 5 seconds after writing that post

Yeah as far as I can tell someone posted them early onto the press FTP and people happened to come across them before they could be taken down. I actually think this one could be rather good, a lot of the issues with previous games are being looked at and this will hopefully be a good next gen representation of Sonic.
