Sega launch new free flash game site – PlaySEGA.com

Procrastinators rejoice! Sega has just made it easier for you to avoid doing anything productive by launching PlaySEGA.com, a web game portal with a selection of arcade, word, card, puzzle, quiz and sports titles. It’s available now and registration is completely free.

PlaySEGA already has an impressive assortment of titles available, including Brain Assist which was originally released the DS. It’s also got the mobile phone version of Sonic at the Olympic Games, as well as brand new SEGA titles including Ice Shuffle, Hollywood Adventure Quiz and Aquatic Word Burst.

Each game has a unique integrated system to calculate players’ highest scores, giving players the ability to view leader board achievements, and PlaySEGA Rings earned during each gaming session. PlaySEGA Rings are the site’s currency; the more games you play and the longer you play, the more PlaySEGA Rings you win – it’s as simple as that!

Users can use Rings to customise their site and create an Escape Area, which is essentially their very own profile page. A wide range of Escape Areas are available to purchase and can be anything from a New York apartment, Swiss chalet or Caribbean villa, to a haunted house! Consumers can also purchase luxury items using their PlaySEGA Rings and decorate their Escape Areas with items including; furniture, TVs, lights, flooring and much more. Customers can invite friends to visit their decorated Escape Areas, as well as view their favourite PlaySEGA games, highest scores, and achievements earned.

Best of all you can use your Rings to enter weekly prize draws to win actual CASH MONEY! Now anyone with access to a PC or Mac with Flash can call themselves a semi-professional gamer. Handily, if you get caught using PlaySEGA at work you can now claim it as a second job.

SEGA have also revealed that they will shortly be unveiling the PlaySEGA VIP area where, for small charge, users will be able to access and play dozens more web games. These will include newly aquired titles created specifically for PlaySEGA, along with fan favourites from the respected Mega Drive years. These will include classics like Columns, Puyo Pop, Chu Chu Rocket, Sonic The Hedgehog and Super Monkey Ball. VIP’s will also benefit from double Rings!

Whether you’re a SEGA fan or not, it’s certainly a good place for anyone who loves Flash games. So check it out at PlaySEGA.com and let us know what you think in the comments section below!
