Sega confirm Yakuza 2 for Europe

Sega have just revealed that Yakuza 2 will be getting a European release in the near future. The game has been available in Japan under the guise of Ryū ga Gotoku 2 since December 2006, and had also been confirmed for release in the US some time ago.

“We are thrilled to treat the gamers in Europe to the sequel of the critically acclaimed Yakuza,” said Sega Europe marketing boss Gary Knight. “Yakuza 2 is one of the most requested Japanese titles in our portfolio and we’re delighted to finally announce a European version.”

No official date has been set for the games Euro release as of yet, with Sega’s press release remaining very vague and just confirming the game will be released “during 2008 exclusively for PlayStation 2“
