Konami has announced they will be releasing a playable demo of PES 2009 for the PS3, Xbox 360 and PC this coming Thursday, on 2nd October. The demo will offer a full five-minute exhibition multiplayer match, with the likes of Manchester United, Liverpool, Real Madrid, Barcelona, Italy and France selectable.
Konami boast that the demo will allow users an early taste of the all-new elements in PES 2009, including all new visuals, remodeled players and animations, and new ball physics routines. They also remark that the AI of the CPU sides has been enhanced to provide an ever evolving challenge.
The PES 2009 demo will also include promotional videos detailing the new game’s ‘Become a Legend’ and online ‘Legends’ modes, which see the player controlling just one player within a team and attempting to forge a career in football. Starting as a promising 17-year-old, players must force their way into the first team and produce a series of blistering performances which will ultimately result to a move to one of Europe’s biggest sides. Or, on the flipside, poor performances can see a player struggling in the lower leagues and eventually being released.

I always look forward to trying to the latest Pro Evo but the last few releases have been disappointing. The days of ISS98 and ISS Pro Evo 2 seem long ago.

Call me a fool, but I always found the FIFA series to be more accessible. Which, for someone like me who doesnt have hours to dedicate to honing his tactics and skills, is essential.
Personally, I hope that this Pro Evo has more options for the casual player.
Hardcore footy fans may now commence to flame me.
