Oldboy a big influence for Prototype

Speaking to videogaming247 Radical Entertainment has confirmed that Oldboy was one of the main influences for their upcoming game Prototype. If you have not heard of Oldboy it is a rather violent South Korean film that made its debut in 2003. It also hit on many dark themes, and has a rather good one-take fight through a long hallway.

“There are a huge number of influences,” they commented to the site. “The guys who make this game love everything. Especially Old Boy where the main the main character does very bad things. But you see that really bad things that have happened to him before, so you have a kind of empathy with that character. So even though it’s a dark story, there’s a context as to why he’s doing these terrible things.“
