October’s PS Plus Line-up Revealed

The good people of the PlayStation Blog have been hard at work this week delivering fresh PlayStation news including this month’s PlayStation Plus line-up. As usual lets waste no time here, the games are as follows: Super Meat Boy, Broken Age, Unmechanical Extended, Kickbeat, Kung Fu Rabbit and Chariot. All of those games will be available on the 6th of October, if you want a little more detail on each one read on.

Firstly making its PlayStation debut is Super Meat Boy which will be available on PS4 and Vita, we previously reported that this game would more than likely make it into October’s line-up. This is a difficult indie platforming title from a few years ago. You play as a red block called Meat Boy who is trying to reach the end of over 300 challenging levels. If you want to know what you’re getting yourself into check out DarkZero’s review here.

Next you’ll be treated to Broken Age which will also be available on PS4 and Vita. This is a coming of age story that follows two similar teenagers in very different worlds, players can switch between the characters at any time. It also happens to be Tim Schafer’s (the creator of Grim Fandango) first graphic adventure game in 16 years.

Then Unmechanical Extended is coming to PS4 and PS3. This follows the story of a lone robot who is trapped in an underground complex. The game combines challenging puzzles and exploration in a captivating atmosphere. It was designed to be simple to pick up and play but difficult to master, think you’re up to the challenge?

kickbeat

The fourth game will be Kickbeat which will be added to your instant game collection on PS3 and Vita. Kickbeat is a rhythm based martial arts game, although I’m not sure that it will itch that rhythm based scratch that Patapon fans are still waiting for. Although they might be excited to hear that the Kickbeat soundtrack is made up of 18 tracks ranging from Pendulum and Marilyn Manson all the way to lesser known indie artists.

KFR

The penultimate game this October will be Kung Fu Rabbit on Vita and PS3. Tragedy strikes the “Temple of Rabbits” as all of your disciples are kidnapped! Luckily the player controlled rabbit manages to get away and now you must save the others by platforming your way through this 3D game.

Chariot

Last up is Chariot which is just coming to PS3. This is a physics based co-op game in which two players, each equipped with a rope, must work together in order to get a chariot to the end of each level.

The six aforementioned games will appear in the PS Plus line-up on October 6th, if you haven’t claimed last month’s games yet it’s not too late to do so, you should check them out here. Two more things to mention, firstly the PS Plus edition of Driveclub is being pulled from the store on October 6th so make sure you grab that up before it’s too late. Lastly be aware that PS3 games coming to Plus may not appear on the PS4’s store as they once did. Last month Twisted Metal didn’t appear in the PS4’s store so keep it in mind that Chariot may not this month.
