Advertising for an advertising agency then?[/intro]
MCV report that Nintendo is now on the look out for a new advertising agency to help them market there the Wii, DS and both platforms games after they split with Leo Burnett earlier this week. The main reason for the split seems to be increased interference from Nintendo in their work, with the straw that broke the camels back been Nintendo insisting that Leo Burnett's documentary-style ads for Wii were re-shot to 'look more like ads' weeks before the launch of the console,
Leo Burnett is the company who have been currently handling all of the marketing you see on TV and in magazines; they have been working with Nintendo for well over seven years going all the way back to 1999. UK marketing director Dawn Paine said the split was due to a "change in business requirements".
