New Dashboard and GTA DLC coming to 360 in November?
November was hardly going to be a quiet month for Xbox 360 owners, as well as having to play through October’s big hitters (Fallout 3 and Fable 2), gamers can also look forward to Gears of War 2, Left 4 Dead, Banjo Kazooie: Nuts & Bolts and The Last Remnant. Not to mention the excellent multi-platform offerings such as Call of Duty: World At War, Tomb Raider: Underworld and Prince of Persia.
Somehow 360 owners are also expected to find the time in November to create an avatar and download the first bit of downloadable content for Grand Theft Auto IV according to a rumour originating from the creator of webcomic RPG-TV.
Apparently the November date came directly from a Microsoft employee at their London office, which was hosting an open demonstration of the ‘New Xbox Experience’ (a.k.a. fall dashboard update) and karaoke game LIPS.
That same Microsoft source also mentioned that the additional content for GTA IV would be ’sizeable’ and provide around 15 hours of extra gameplay time. No other details regarding pricing or what will actually be included in the DLC have been given, but a new island is heavily rumoured.

Totally not hyped about the GTA DLC, I don’t think I can be bothered to play through it again even if the missions are new, I though the last ones were just boring and repetitive.

I did end up 100%-ing GTA IV, but the realism and believable characters came at the cost of less inventive missions.
Don’t get me wrong, some of them were still excellent fun, but there was nothing as enjoyably outlandish and varied as San Andreas’ missions.
Hopefully this DLC will change that…

If the DLC adds cheats and parachutes to online Free Mode, I’m happy.

In fact, the more this adds to online free mode, the absolute better.
Cheats would be awesome, if it is anything like Crackdown. Being able to spawn explosives and whatnot.
Ahh…. sweet Crackdown.

Fall update huh? Any later and it would be a winter update.
Not to complain though, an update is much appreciated, for the 360 and GTAIV respectively.
Also, isn’t Fallout 3 a multi-platform game?

Whoops! Yes, Fallout 3 is multi-platform. Now been corrected.
I do always enjoy a new update. Just playing around with new features is always fun, and this update looks to be the most substantial that any console has ever seen.
