Motorstorm 2 details revealed as part of Playstation Day

Some new details have being revealed about MotorStorm 2 as part of the PlayStation Day event Sony are holding at the O2 Arena. To be honest PlayStation Day is kind of like Christmas Day, but with even more jolly overweight men.

At the show many elements of the game were announced. The game will apparently boast 20-vehicle races on a selection of 16 tracks. Only one of these tracks was shown at the event, and it was not fully completed as of yet. Regardless many new gameplay features were announced

Unlike the first game mud will no longer play as big of a part in the selection of vehicles, and instead interactive vegetation will be what affects the speed of your vehicle on different parts of the track. For example if you drive a bike through thick grass you will slow down, but you can easily plough through it with a car, truck, or even the new monster truck that was revealed at the show.

The monster truck is also apparently really good a climbing, meaning many shortcuts are available when you use it. Also, crushing smaller vehicles is an option too when you use the monster truck. “Ultra-aggressive AI” is yet another big feature for the game, so make sure you dont get squashed too!

It was also boasted that four-player split-screen will be on show as well as the usual online modes, but this info was revealed beforehand so no cheers were heard. The game however delivers “raw, thrilling off-road racing” though so we are still happy.
