Modern Warfare 2 drops Call of Duty moniker

When speaking to Joystiq, the US arm of Activision Blizzard has revealed the Call of Duty name has more-or-less been dropped for Modern Warfare 2.

“At this time, all we are free to say is that Modern Warfare has taken on such a life of its own, it has become our focus now,” comments a nice US spokesperson to the US based blog.

We asked Activision’s Euro arm the same question earlier today, as we were curious, but they did not reply back. Maybe things are different over here, or maybe, just maybe, they were not all that bothered to reply.

We’ll post any and all Modern Warfare 2 news we find on other sites in the future, as it seems Activision wont be much help in aiding us in reporting any of our own.
