Metal Gear Solid 4 script is almost 1000 pages

The latest episode of IGN’s podcast had David Hayter, the voice of Solid Snake on as a special guest. As you’d expect he answered many questions about the upcoming release of Metal Gear Solid 4, revealing as much as he could without going into specific detail about the story.

One of the more interesting questions asked was about the scripts for the MGS games, and the length of times it takes him to record his material. To this he commented that the voicework sessions for each of the Metal Gear Solid games were vastly different from each other.

The first and second Metal Gear Solid games only took two and three weeks to record respectably. Metal Gear Solid 3 upped that total to one month, which was impressive at the time. However, he then went on to reveal that work on MGS4 was much harder, taking an extraordinary nine months to record in total, with a 800-1000 pages long script involved. That’s over five times as long as most film scripts.

Just as long as the scenes are good, the speaking can just keep coming! :D
