According to the Japanese site +Dgames it has been announced that Sega will be bringing Master System games to the Wii’s Virtual Console in the near future. The site reveals that the games will start being distributed on the service in North America and Europe at an unspecified date in February. The site also revealed that Sega Mk III and GameGear games will also go on sale under the Master System banner on VC, as those consoles are all effectively based on the same hardware. The first games to be released will be Fist of the North Star for 600pts and Fantasy Zone for 500pts.
We’d love Alex Kidd in Miracle World to appear some time soon, it has such great ties with the Master System that it has to appear sometime, right?

Good to see that the service is still expanding, and with the WiiWare coming up soon, there will be a load of great choices.
