Lies, and then some news bits

Hello, today is Friday Internet Hates Peter Molyneux Day. I poked fun at the man during the last two days as part of this very news piece, but today, everything that can be said about the current situation has been said better elsewhere. So today, instead of adding more words to the pile, here is a song that offers an okay summarization of what is going on elsewhere right now.

If mighty oaks from little acorns grow (like this man once promised they would), then after this spectacular fall from grace, I really do hope the 30-year industry veteran goes on to create something spectacular down the line. That really would be the perfect end to this whole debacle. Otherwise. it has been nothing short of a cruel witch hunt with a meaningless outcome – and no one will have benefited from that.

Oh, by the way, some other stuff happened too.

News bits

  • Darksiders 2 is getting a Definitive Edition according to the US arm of Amazon. The first one is still better though.
  • There is a co-op Valentine’s sale on Steam over the weekend – which should either excite or depress you based on your current relationship status. Here’s the page to bookmark.
  • Nintendo is going to make an appearance at Indiecade to talk Indie gaming, and showcase some games (February 13-15).
  • Not to be outdone, Microsoft has said they will showcase some Indie releases at the upcoming EGX Rezzed (March 12-14).
  • There was a new Just Cause 3 trailer released that tells us nothing about the game, but sets a good tone
  •  The iOS App Store can be depressing some times
  • Although, Apple has confirmed Apps can now be up to 4GB in size (previously it was 2GB). So get excited about that – or shout at your 16GB device in anger.
  • If you are still waiting for the PS+ Edition of Driveclub, there is more bad news. “We’re getting there, but there’s still a lot of server development needed to support the PS+ Edition,” was the reply given to a fan on Twitter by the developer when question on the subject.  The Tweet now seems to be deleted, so I cannot link to it. Please replay the above song for my opinion on this situation.
  • Looks like Zynga might fire Don Mattrick. His hair is still awesome though.

Friday the 13th could have gone a lot worse all things considered.
