Left 4 Dead Survival Pack will be free to all

left-4-dead-2

Zombie lovers/haters rejoice! The recently-announced Survival Pack DLC will be absolutely free of charge to Xbox 360 and PC gamers alike, confirms Valve.

As we reported earlier this week, this completely gratis content will allow players to battle each other on Versus mode on both the Dead Air and Death Toll campaigns, as well as introducing a brand new Survival mode.

PC gamers will also get free access the Source Software Development Kit enabling them to create custom Left 4 Dead campaigns themselves. If for some reason (madness, perhaps?) you haven’t picked up Left 4 Dead yet on any platform, you can always wait for the Critic’s Choice edition of the game which will be released along the DLC and includes the original game plus all bonus downloadable content.

To be fair, were not getting much new here.

Still anything that makes L4D more complete is a welcome addition to my harddrive and its nice to see MS can’t influence Valve.

It’s always nice to receive free content, especially maps/levels… I always begrudge paying for them…. I would however be willing to pay for extra campaigns! ;) Any news on the development of that for L4D?

  4. No news as of yet, but knowing Valve that will indefinatly happen.

Shame we can’t make mods on the 360.

Now that would be cracking… I’d definately set up my own levels if I could…. a type of King of The Hill / Horde (a la Gears of War 2) would be excellent on any level design! Not just at the Hospital Roof/Farm/Waterfront…..

  6. pretty sure that is survival mode man.
