Left 4 Dead breaks 1.8 Million mark at retail

With EA talking a lot about their finances today, news has come out of the company regarding sales of Left 4 Dead – which EA co-published and distributed for Valve on both PC and 360.

According to the numbers, which were released during a conference call to investors, the game sold 1.8 million copies at retailers worldwide in 2008. Seeing as the game was first released on November 18, that is a nice solid number for a month and a half.

However, let’s not forget this number does not include sales through Steam – which Valve always seems to want to keep quite – so the real number is likely to be much higher, and probably well past the 2 million mark.

We awarded Left 4 Dead a 10/10 in our review, and also named it our Game of the Year in our Top 20 listing of 2008.
