Konami remake GTI Club for PSN

Konami have announced they are working on a remake of the 1996 arcade racing game GTI Club, and plan to release it on PSN this November under the name GTI Club+. The games graphics have all been redone in HD to make it look pretty, as 12 years is a long time in the gaming industry. The game will also boast new online modes for up to 8 players.

GTI Club is famous for been one of the first games to allow free-roaming of the environment, and encouraged gamers to find hidden shortcuts to cut their laps times signifigantly. the game was also very arcadey in nature, letting you do handbrake turns around the tightest of corners.

It is not yet known if the game will make it way to other digital distribution platforms after its PSN release.

  1. how abt THRILL DRIVE? konami has many gr8 arcade games that were short & ideal for PSN… shd capitalise on popularity of DLC with these old franchises and make some more profits! i really missed those games which are now hard to find in arcades. i think namco shd do the same, such as cyber-sled, cyber-commando, rave-racer, galaxian 3D, starblade, etc. the motion sensitive controller will be gr8 for shooters like starblade & galaxian 3D, and the twin thumb-sticks will be ideal for cyber sled-type of game!
