id confirm work on Doom 4 has begun

id Software have revealed that work on the production on Doom 4 has begun at the company. Currently, the developer is working on on expanding its internal team of developers to work on the game.

“Doom is part of the id Software DNA and demands the greatest talent and brightest minds in the industry to bring the next instalment of our flagship franchise to Earth,” said id Software CEO Todd Hollenshead. “It’s critical for id Software to have the best creative minds in-house to develop games that meet the standards synonymous with our titles.”

No further details on the game were released, but we’d say it is likely the company may simultaneously bring the game to console as well as PC. You know, cause PC is dieing and all that jazz! Arghhhh pirates!
