I wonder how long it’ll be before GAME and Gamestation begin to address their pricing strategies? I’ve found for a long time that their prices as a whole are over inflated, I much prefer to buy everything online. Admittedly though, the trade in is good because I can’t be arsed to sell them online, maybe I’m just lazy too?

I traded in 5 GC games and got £22 for them on Monday. At the time it seemed like a good deal. Kept my MK:DD + Zelda Collectors edition though, that’ll be worth far more than the £6 they offered on eBay.

I must admit, I do trade in games in shops despite being aware of the fact I could get more for them online. I think it’s just a sense of convenience, and the fact that I can trade things in on the spur of the moment.
I find that CEX gives the best trade-in deals by far, and also has the best prices for 2nd-hand games.
I really should try and be less lazy…

Game and Gamestation have long found this to be an easy way to maximise profits so it was only a matter of time until others joined in. Personally I find the second hand prices in the aforementioned stores vastly inflated, especially considering how little the gamer gets when trading in. They’re much better off trading on eBay or just swapping games online, and quite often you can buy new games online for the same price or cheaper.

I still remember trading in a bunch of games to get Mario Kart 64 half price. That was probably the last time I made this mistake.
