Harmonix Move To ‘More Ambitious Endeavor’

A few days ago we reported that Harmonix – of Frequency, Amplitude and Guitar Hero fame – looked to have passed on the Guitar Hero franchise to Neversoft. Now it looks as if these reports have been confirmed… in fact it is now official!

Harmonix can confirm that we are not developing Guitar Hero 3,” producer Daniel Sussman told Gamasutra. “We are instead working on a different music game project, one that is a bigger and more ambitious endeavour than we felt we could pursue within the bounds of the Guitar Hero franchise.

If the Harmonix guys really think they can create something bigger and better than Frequency, Amplitude and Guitar Hero then all fans of rhythm games should be very excited!
