Halo 5 has Gone Gold!

Halo 5: Guardians is due out on the 27th of this month, and as of today it looks like the game is on its way to the printing press. It was announced earlier today, via the Halowaypoint Blog, that the game has gone gold. The blog goes on to say: “This is the culmination of an incredible three-year journey for our team. Together we set out to accomplish an ambitious vision and deliver a Halo game built from the ground up for the Xbox One.” It took a lot of effort from a lot of people to bring Halo 5 this far and it sounds like they’ll soon be ready to move onto their next project, after the inevitable Halo 5 patches that is.

The blog moves on to discuss how this is the most ambitious Halo yet, and the first time a Halo game has featured a multi-character campaign. It mentions that there should be a multiplayer content update prior to launch. Perhaps the most exciting news is that the digital version will be available to pre-download as of next week, this means players who opt for the digital version of the game will be ready to go first thing on the 27th of October. If you’ve pre-ordered the collector’s edition of Halo 5, but you’re not happy with the digital copy of the game that comes with it then click here to find out how to exchange it for a disc.
